i can install the software and do photo copies from the printer but it wont connect to the computer at akl. i have an epson stylus dx8400 all in one. the problem is the usb cable, it won't reconise it and says something like you need IEEE 1394 support. can you please help
Download drivers from the epson website. this seemed to work for me

You cannot connect via the FRONT A type usb socket.
Look at Rear (right hand) inset is the B type socket you need to use. How? insert your install CD and select CUSTOM install.
DO NOT PLUG IN THE CABLE YET. A picture box screen pops to tell you when. You will see printer icon to the right bottom of screen next to clock if all is ok.

I have the same problem and it seems you need FIREWIRE connection which is faster than USB.. it doesnt use a standard cable, i plugs into a firewire card... also known as iLink on Macs
