Same problem!
Item powers the freezer first then this feeds the fridge compartment. Although it's a 'frost free' fridge frezer, ie looks after it's self it clearly dosen't. Turn OFF and empty completely after about 10 hours I had a puddle of defrosted water at the base of the unit.After 24 Hours switch back ON. Alarm should sound to start with - press the 'super' button ON for about half hour this will speed up Freezing in the freezer.
So far so good - but sounds like a common problem.
I understand Howdens do not use these anymore !!!

i 1st place defrost it for 24 hrs then it will work fine for 3 months more or less but the best thing is to call an engineer to change the defrost heater.

I am afraid I cannot help but have the same problem! I think it is because the freezer is not defrosting when it should
