The immobiliser can be permanently disabled by entering the "immobiliser code" via the driver's door lock - search other answers for the procedure.
The immobiliser, key-cut & radio codes (specific to each vehicle) can be obtained for a fee (£10-£20) from an ex-Rover dealer or Xpart Autoservice Centre. You'll need to prove ownership of the vehicle (probably with your V5c etc.)
