How simple is it to replace the temperature sensor on my Caravan's Carver Cascade 2 GE Water Heater, circa 1993 and are their any instructions available to the layman?

my carver heater wont light,infact it lights but wont stay lit.you can hear the clicking of the ignition constantly, untill the gas is obviously turnned off by the sensors and the flame goes out.

Burner box is corroded, made in 1990. Is it possible to find just a replacement box, as all other parts are in good order? Thanks.
