Fix Fault Samsung Sgh-j600

Every time i put the phone on the charger, when charged i take it off and the phone turns itself off either during charging or when i unplug it and have to restart it evertime i charge it.

The battery is charged and teh phoen switches on but the screen is blank, it is the battery that needs replacing?

i recently got given the phone to use temporarily, when i turn on the phone it displays on the screen sim lock. what code do i put in to get rid of it or why is it displaying this ??
