98 vectra sri 140 runs fine no warning lights on ect but is really down on power

how do i set the timing on a vauxhall vectra v reg 2ltr 140 sri after belt was removed before timing was set

vauxhall vectra sri 140 2.0l 1998 engine miss fire but not all the time feels like a plug lead is off but ive check them all fine no dash warning lights at all maybe coil pack ?
