my olympus FE-170 will not take pictures anymore?

hello, my camera is an olympus FE-170. i have had it for afew months, it was working perfectly, but then sudddenly just broke. it will not take pictures anymore. the screen works perfectly, but when you press the button to take the picture, it acts as if it has taken one but then the picture taken is of complete black as if the shuttter is shut or something. please can you help?

i have read this through and it looks like you need to perform a reset on your cam.

Have you backed up the images onto a pc or extra card ?

i would take the batterys out and leave it for around 36 hours with no power. This will send the camera back to default settings when you put the batteries back in and of course you will not loose the photos on the card !
