MY HOTPOINT WMA32 WASHER WILL NOT SPIN ON WASH OR RINSE CYCLE?

MY WASHER WILL NOT SPIN IT TAKES WATER AND POWDER THEN DOES NOTHING ALSO PUT ON SPIN AND WATER EMPTIES BUT STILL DOES NOT SPIN BELT IS ON AS I HAVE CHECKED
BEVERLEY JOHNSON, November 2007
As the machine is taking in water and draining, I would think the fault is likely to be motor or module related. If the drum is turning at the start of the programme then I would think that the speed module is faulty. Modules can sometimes not work correctly if the heating element is not working - if it doesn't reach temperature then the module does not kick in thus no spin (can you feel the water getting hot when you put your hand on the door?). However, if there is no drum movement at all then the problem is likely to be motor related.
