on my pvc door the lock wont go across only when the door is shut, the handle goes up when the door is open or closed and the key turns when door is open but when the door is shut the key wont turn so the door locks?? any help??

The bolt that shoots out of the lock is fouling on the keep ( the bit in the frame). Look very closely for any scrape marks on the bolt or keep, or turn the key with the door open, close it as much as you can and see if you can tell if the bolt is too low or too high. Usually, the keep is adjustable using a screwdriver. Good luck!
