Worcester heatslave 15/19 Hot water not working?

I have a Worcester Heatslave 15/19 and the hot water is not working. The Heating is working ok. In fact when I put the hot water on, when the heating is off, the heating comes on instead of the water!

I have the same problem, i.e hot water runs for about one minute and then only cold water comes out. I got British Gas maintenance who changed the thermostat. But that DID NOT solve the problem. Can someone confirm that the diverter valve switches the heated water from running on the central heating or the hot water. The diverter valve has a lever at the bottom - should this be in the forward (close to you) or back position?
Any help would be most welcome - Mr Moss Mr Bawden?

I fix these problems all the time, 1.if heating comes on when not supposed to then the diverter valve is usually the problem, hot water going cold is one of a few causes,2 i have found the inlet side of the heat exchanger limed up in hard water areas, quite rare, 3 the cirulating pump is slowing down so not pushing heated water into the heat exchanger fast enough, 4 i have one to do today ,the heating side of the heat exchanger is blocking with a gel substance ,from the plastic under floor pipes, dont know why it is happening , i will find the cause.5 no hot water ,the flowswitch might not be activating,a reliable engineer will check and eliminate the above until the cause is found.

open the top cover and you will see the cold water inlet pipe, along this is a screw type open and close valve, turn it clockwise about a quarter turn so that the water is shut off...follow along towards front of boiler and you will come across a brass assembly, undo all this from both sides of copper pipe and you will see a guaze filter, either clean this out or replace it and this should solve your problem.

Rohan,
Have same problem. Just changed actuator head and the problem is still there (£91 incl vat and del) Assuming it must be the valve itself. Also had to change programmer because there was no digital display ... another 70+ quid! Thought Worcester was supposed to be a reliable make.
