Common fault with these.
Almost certainly a power board problem. Regulator IC001 gets far too hot during normal operation and is mounted on a totally inadequate heatsink on the board. I would look at this first. Replacements can be obtained online. STRG 6353. Use some heatsink compound on the replacement and consider mounting it on a more effective heatsink. The DMR E55 is notorious for the self checking problem. The machine usually lasts for a couple of years before playing up. However, if you are technically minded it is usually quite easy to sort this. A new regulator only costs a few pounds. You need a decent soldering iron, a bit of skill and the ability to take care. If you are not confident to tackle it, the best advice is to leave it to an engineer. Good luck -

On the machine while the machine is off, press and hold the stop and channel up buttons at the same time for about 5 seconds. If you have this problem often it may be you will need a new control module, about £30-£40.
