HOTPOINT 1000 First Edition does not rinse and spin properly?

I had a problem where the belt had gone on this machine so replaced it.

It worked for a while (about 3 days!) without error, but then the spin stopped working properly: The machine was rinsing and spinning but would not empty the water. I have trie the outlet pipe for the old water at the back and it seems that when I lower the pipe (below the washer level) the waste comes out, but when I put in the pipe in the wall (which is higher thatn the outlet part at the bottom) the washer will not empty/................hope this makes sense to you as it does not really to me...

(maybe there is a pump which pushes the water out and through the outlet pipe i was thinkin?!?)

thanks

Dave

I have a FEW12 that leaked water all over the floor & wouldn't spin properly. Just had it in bits. Removed the pump, bottom right corner looking from the back of the machine. The Rubber Hose between Pump & Drum was full of fluff & rubbish, easily cleaned out. Make sure you put the ping pong ball back inside plastic housing and line back up to the Drum base during re-assembly of Rubber Hose to Drum & Pump. Mine all works perfect again now. Hope that helps you.

Hello Dave,
There certainly is a pump. This would be where you need to look first.
The machine will not reach full spin speed with lots of water still in the drum.
