I have the same problem with MAYTAG LSE1000. It keeps reverting back to 'L'?

I have the same problem with MAYTAG LSE1000. It keeps reverting back to 'L'. I have to press 'Pause resume' and it is a hit or miss and is very frustrating

I initially replaced the lock switch next to the solenoid valve (partselect.com P/N PS60533). This seemed to fix the problem for quite a while. But the problem returned and was intermittent... then it wouldn't lock at all. I finally traced the orange/brown wire on the switch back to the control panel. I found that the pin in the connector at the back of the washer had disengaged from the connector. The wire within the washer cable was no longer making contact with the cable from the control panel. I measured about 12.5 volts at the control panel. See if you have this voltage on the switch. The plain brown wire on the switch is a common.
