I have an error code F03 on a Hotpoint wf840. What does this mean?

After 6 months of perfect operation, the error code F03 has just started to flash on the display of the washer and it decides to run cold water continuously through and out after stopping its attempt to spin. Happened at 5.35pm...5 mins after hotpoint helpline closed. Can anyone tell me what this is all about please?

I've got a Kenmore Washer model 44072 and recently had the error code F-03 or F03 show up. The water sat in the machine unable to drain. I took the back off and disconnected the tube between the wash tumbler and the drain pump (its just a hose clamp). I removed a piece of a ball-point pen stuck in there. It must have come out of a pocket and fallen through the little tumbler holes. After reconnecting the hose, the washer works great again.

anyone have a idea what f-03 could be , i got told it would be either the heater or the temp sensor , which ive both changed and still no joy

I received this last night on my Hotpoint WD860 when drying some clothes. I did the top advice of powering off and restarting it with a fast wash programme. Seemed to have solved it. I've only had my washer/dryer for 2 weeks.

I rang the Hotpoint customer service line and they are willing to send someone out on the same day to look at it. Not abd service.

As it's only 6 months old - I would get it checked over on warranty - in case there's a persistent problem or the code is just the start of a much bigger problem. It's best to get that done in warranty than out. I've had other appliances give symptoms in warranty but then break outside of warranty with no real comeback to the supplier.

Non scientific but practical work around, from experience of same error code.
De-power the machine (not just turn it off) for about five mins, to loose any residual short term memory.
Power it back up, it will either still be in mid cycle, stop it, let it pump out and go to END; and/or, turn it off as per normal.
Power it off again for a couple of mins.
Re start with new program and if your machine behaves like ours, it will run through to the end without any problem.

It's a water pump problem. Either the circuit is gone or the pump.
