how can i fix my canon stratford cookers oven?

My oven will not go on to full heat it stays at the minimal setting regardless of where you have the knob. It stays in this condition straight from the word go. The heat which is low stays on all the time.
Its a canon stratford make

just make sure the stat is corectly cliped into position over the flame thats on the left of the burner.then if you look to the right hand you can just see the fail safty device that might need replacing by someone qualified the flame should stay on low for 1 min and rise to full
