how can i change the timer on my hygena dishwasher APL 8222?

HYGENA DISHWASHER APL 8222
THE TIMER STICKS PART WAY AND THE WASH CYCLE DOES NOT COMPLETE EVEN IF I TRY & MOVE IT ON
BOBBY RAI, December 2007
I purchased a timer switch for Hygena APL 8222 from Partsmaster. It was the correct item. Easily fitted, Allan D gave the info on this. Just need to be careful and make sure you get the wiring on the same connectors. the wires come out separately not a block connector.
This has not cured the machine from sticking half way through the cycle.
Element is working, has anyone any other idea what the cause may be.

I am looking at the same problem. Program Selector sticks halfway and the machine works if I click the selector on one or two clicks. I cannot find a direct replacement for the program selector but on www.apart4u.co.uk there is a timer referenced which might be able to be fitted. I am going to e-mail this company to find out.
If the problem is not the selector which I think is unlikely, it may be the thermostat but I have yet to investigate this.
Have you had any progress yourself?
If you need guidance to accessing the Program selector - open the dishwasher, round the inside edge there are star screws (make sure you use the correct size) which you undo from the top and the last are the screws at each side. The control knob will pull off before you remove the plastic front which is held on by plastic lugs. The metal frame holding the controls are held on by two screws on the inside edge of the door panel at each side pointing inwards.
Then you 'wiggle' the metal frame holding the control unit from the door frame. You will see the programme selector on the right. It should be motor driven with plastic disc selectors and the motor behind (on the inside) this. All the electrical connections are on the left as you look at the selector from the front. From here you should see self tapper screws holding the program selector to the metal panel.
Hope this helps.
