Is there any easy fix for a video feed that has a short?

Our Sony Trinintron seems to have a short in the video feed jack. Our set has the three plug-ins in the front for easy access for gaming system. We have sound. Picture works only if we hold the video cord down and in place at an angle. It is not the cord that is bad as I bought a replacement. Is there a quick and easy way to fix and or replace this component without hauling the tv in to a repair shop or calling in a repairman?

your jack in the tv probably has a bad solder joint or loose connection. If the jack is moving(spinning at all), it may have a nut to would tighten and restore a possible ground loose connection. You most definitly would have to open it up to investagate.
