This GE SXSfridge/freeezer has been working ok whoever yesterday morning the fridge side has defrosted and does not work I have moved the thermostat around but it does not kick on I have had a themometer in the fridge but no change

Can some one advise of the possible problems

More than likely you'll end up replacing the motherboard on the back side of fridge (P/N WR55X10109) but first inspect inside rear back wall of freezer compartment for a frost buildup... This will result from the system not defrosting properly and disrupting airflow to the fridge side... Remove the cover to expose the evaporator and use a hair dryer to melt any ice buildup... This will correct your problem but only temporarily until it can be determined why the system isn't defrosting...
