My washer will not spin or wash, all it does is set there and make noise. The motor sounds like it is runing. could this be the clutch. This is a Kenmore washer 90 series Model # is

Hi,

There is no belt on this particular model. If you hear the motor running, and there is no spin or wash, it is very likely that the drive coupler (which is what is used in this machine instead of a belt) has failed. You may have black dust under your washer which happens sometimes when the coupler gets worn. It is about a 13.00 dollar part and easy to change if your somewhat mechanically inclined.
