How can i fix the disk tray on my Liteon LVW-5026?

The disk tray on my Liteon LVW-5026 DVD recorder has been acting up recently, the disk wouldn't read when i closed the disk tray, so i opened and closed it several times but nothing happened, so out of short-tempered anger (and stupidity i know) i forced the tray closed, and the disk read! Now when i want a disk to read i have to push the disk tray in with some speed, which i would rather not do in case it got worse, so does anyone know what i can do to fix it? Thanks.

O.k I fixed mine. I opened up the unit and removed the drive I tinkered with the lazer screws (they have what looks like a blue marker pen mark over them but is in fact plastic). Really though dont waste your time.
These are IDE drives so I took mine out and replaced it with another liteon dvd recorder which I took out of my EZ-Dub standalone dvd reader/writer.
What you will find though is that its not a perfect fit. I had to remove and leave the front cover off of the unit to get it to work.Replacing the front drawer cover does not allow the drawer unit to close properly so the disk will be ejected even though I used the original drawer cover.Having said that I no longer get the opening/closing maddness the unit went through before.I really CANNOT recommend these products because there are so many of these units that have the same faults.Having said that mine is about 5 years old with very little use so didnt want to scrap it.

I have the same unit.It ejects of its own accord once inserted it wont read disks and definitely wont record onto a dvd.It doesnt even see blank dvds anymore.
Looking on ebay there are a few of this model that all have the same problem.I can't give you an answer, but I would look at replacing the dvd.Its just like a pc connection. Data cable and power cable. Its 4 speed apparently.
It prolly needs the 'gain' turning up on the laser as they all lose their power over time.Thing is mine, prolly like most has had the dvd reading/burning side of things used only occasionally.
