Computer starts when power strip turned on after upgrade to XP?

Since I upgraded from Win 98SE to XP, my computer starts automatically when I turn on the power strip which it is plugged in to. Is there some way I can stop this? I don't want it to turn on until I push it's "On" switch. I have other things plugged into the power strip.

this is usually a bios setting. How do you turn off the computer? If you just turn off the power at the strip, then the computer thinks it has ihad interrupted power and the bios tells it to restart. Change that bios setting. If you do the correct shutdown sequence from windows, then when it powers down it should shut off and stay off until you press the power button.

By the way, if you do shut down the computer by the strip, thats akin to stopping a car by hitting a brick wall. Don't do it!!
