Intermittent water intake problem for a Zanussi ZT6810 (Fault A5)?

Our Zanussi ZT6810 dishwasher recently decided it wouldn't take in water on the economy programme and flashed A5 fault. After cleaning the filters and fitted a new hose, it worked for about a month, then refused to take in water.

Changing to another programme has worked fine for several months but now it's doing it again.

Anyone got any ideas? Many thanks

This is answering my own question - but it may help others.

I called the service engineer who cleared out accumulated crud from the water intake system. Not something the average DIYer would be able to do.

Blockages in the system can be dirty filters, bent hoses - fixable by the average user and crud - best done by experts.
