I fixed this problem on my computer by uninstalling the printer via Start, Control panel, Add remove programs Epson German (Last one on the list on my computer) Yes to remove. Then restart the computer. Make sure you have the Epson CD in the drive. When the found new hardware wizard pops. Select automatic again, but instead of selecting the item at the top of the list select the one at the bottom. The top one loads the German version the bottom one English.
Yes I agree English should be at the top of the list. That's why I made the same mistake.
