i need to fix my brakes on my bmx it has one cable running under frame then it stops,and i been given another cable with like u braket

most likely that u bracket will have a pinch bolt that the cable from under frame clamps into, you then have another cable running from left brake block to right, going through the u clamp. so when the brake is pulled, the cable pulls the u clamp, which tensions the cable between blocks, thereby applying the brake.
