Hi i really don't know the silver wire you are reffering to do you mean the silver cable that is joined to the on/reset buttons for PS2 /you will need to supply more information eg is it slimline anyway this youtube video may help http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgE4Ib7uh2c&feature=related
