Indesit won't spin properly?

Hi,

My Indesit W1130G washing machine won't spin properly and trips the main fuse once during each complete cycle.

It washes normally until the spin cycle. The drum revs up then slows down repeatedly for around 45secs. Then the main fuse trips. Once restarted the cycle continues intermittent revving. Final spin is constant speed although seems not to be maximum.

Any ideas how I would diagnose the fault and/or what component might need replacing?

Thanks

Alex

Similar root cause as for previous reply, but different scenario:
Nut on back of drum shaft is loose, allowing drum to move foreward. This allows water into bearings, causing increased wear and friction, causing overload on moter during spin cycle.
The ultimate end result is as I have described elsewhere.

Possible failure of drum bearings.
Sagging drum rubbing against inside of tub, causing excess load on motor during spin cycle.
To Test:
With no water or washing in the drum, push and pull the drum gently in and out, and up and down. If there is any significant motion accompanied by a slight 'clunk' the bearings have probably disintegrated and will need to be replaced.

Probable replacement parts:
Bearing set (approx £18)
Bearing Seal (Approx £7)

Possible replacement parts:
Spider/Shaft Assembly (Approx £30)
Drum drive belt (Approx £10)

Worst Case replacement parts:
Plastic Tub assembly (Don't Know - guess £100)

Some previous experience of dismantling and rebuilding washing machines required.
Previous experience of, and tools for removing and replacing bearings required.
