I just received this radio for christmas and have tried to install it into my G-regestration VW Polo. At the moment I have no speakers or aerial.

When I plug the power + light cable into the back of the radio the red LED (security code light) comes on and the lighting around the buttons comes on whent the car lights are turned on but the display doesn't come on + the play, rewind etc. buttons don't do anything.

Obviously I wasn't expecting any sound to come out (as there are no speakers) but I expected the display to come on + the buttons to make the tape player move.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

you need to connect the positive red wire with the blue antenna wire next to it to a permanent 12volt cable.if you had the positive red cable connected to the yellow costant wire you would get the problem that you experiencing.
