Unless the software that you got with the hardware (BTW you don';t say what the hardware is which is unhelpful) states specifically that it will work with your version of Mac OS then it won't.
For example, if it is the case that is says Windows XP or similar then you've had it - it just won't work.
Mikomi, in spite of the exotic eastern sounding name is an Own Brand of Argos. So you need to go back to that famous computer company - Argos - for support.
