I'd love to answer a question here but I'm afraid I only have one further one. Try as I might I cannot get the display to show the comfort and timer icons together. I can get the timer and the eco settings together but I don't want a minimum temperature in the house as the cold weather approaches. Can anbody help?

I have perserved with the Climapro for 2 years. Installed with a full new heating system and Glowworm 30cxi boiler (which has also been trouble).

I follow its logic. It should be brilliant. However, the thing just doesn't work properly. It is on timed 7 day settings but it is on eco setting now when it should be on comfort, the third program time setting never holds and it doesn't like Sundays either.

This is the second one too, and no better than the first.

I'm giving in and replacing it.

I have a glow worm 30cxi but the idiot who installed it never fitted a stat, does the Glowworm Climapro rf need anything adjusting or adding in the boiler itself or does it come with everything you need to get it "working"?? Thanks

Hi,
We have just installed and I use similar commercial controllers. But this one is baffling and not user friendly AT ALL.Instructin should have been simple for average house holder. Written by an idiot without any consideration for end user.
Even setting controller is not logical. I hope these equipment manufacturers carry out market research.
I have misplaced the booklet and I can't reset controls.

Hi Lucy C,

The climapro thermostat was designed to enable the C/heating to be kept at a steady low temperature @ various times of the day when not in use, so that when you do require a higher temperature i.e. in the evening & first thing in the morning it does not require the boiler excessive use & more gas to be used than necessary, however that being said I understand that you do not require it to be on at a to higher temperature, so press the mode button 3 times & along the bottom of the screen it should read ECO ( lets say) 19deg, (or whatever fig it is).

So that the boiler does not come on to much during the day or night & at to high a temperature reduce this to approx 15deg or less if you wish, the pump will still run because that’s what the this thermostat was designed to do keep a steady temperature, but the boiler will only fire up if the temperature drops below 15deg or whatever temp you set it at.

It is quicker, better & more cost efficient that C/Heating is brought up from a temperature of approx 15deg than poss. 7/8deg in cold weather, that’s why this thermostat & this particular type of boiler was designed.

Hope you find this helpful, Jim.

Sorry I can't help with your questions above but I wonder if you could help me out...
I have the Climapro unit set to 'timed' but the heating comes on and off all through the day and night and not just between the chosen time periods.
I am presuming that it kicks-in when the temp falls below a certain temperature but I don't want this happening.
Any idea how I can switch it so it only comes on between the chosen times?
Thank you!

Hi To All who struggle with Climapro,

I to have the same system & at first found it awkward but now Ok so let's see what I can do for you guy's?. First make sure that your Boiler & Wireless stat are communicating as per the instruction Manual, set temperature by pressing Mode Button twice & at the bottom of the screen you will see Comf (lets say 18deg) to raise or lower the Temp press plus or minus key's, (in this cold weather you may need it at approx 23 / 24deg) then press mode button again & set Eco Temp, this is the temp that your boiler will heat your house & tick over during the day when you do not require as much heat during the daytime especially if nobody is home, in this weather this could be set at approx 16 to 18deg or whatever you decide, then press mode once again & this is the setting for your hot water once again press the Plus or Minus keys. Continue in this manner & you will find that by doing the same principle you will be able to change the time & date as you go through the mode sequences. If at sometime you req the Temperature to be More than or Less than what it is at some particular time in a sequence during the day or evening & for this to be temporary, press the Plus Button only & then raise or lower the temp as you wish by pressing the plus or minus keys to what you req, this will then take effect for the duration until the next sequence comes into operations, also when you have done this you will find a little hand appear at the top left corner to show that you have temporarily overridden the system, & if you wish to cancel the temporary instructions just press the mode key once & it will clear.
The Prog key is a little tricky but once you have got used to it you will wonder why you struggled in the first place, press & hold for approx 6 secs & you will enter the this section, press the prog button again & you will find that it will go through each of the sections separately & will go full circle, to make an alteration to any of the sections press plus or minus, when it comes to the days section the one's that are flashing are the ones that you will make the settings for, the section's [1] [2] [3] are for separate sections of the day, you do not have to use them all you may if you wish just use 1 only, but make sure that the times in 2 & 3 are 00.00 but remember that whatever section's you set up, those section's are the comfort sections & will operate at the temp you set in Comfort, & when the Boiler is not on in any of the sections 1 2 3 then the eco Temp will apply.

I hope this helps you with your problems the one thing that did puzzle me for a while & that is, that to obtain a comfy temp I had to raise it to 25deg which I thought was rather high, but boy does it work, yes it certainly dose, so best of luck, Jim.

Hi Richard/Trev,

Just wondering, after setting the CH morning time setting [1], did you the use the plus button to go to the evening setting [2] and set that to say, 1800-2200 or whatever you feel? Sorry if this is a silly suggestion.

I too am flumaxed by the commissioning of the climapro rf unit. Hard wired the receiver, all lights working/testing correctly, but no response when I adjust the comfort temp to higher than the room temp, ie I expect the boiler to kick in. Even turned off the boiler's internal CH programmer, still not working.

Surely in this plug and play age this is unnecessarily complex!!!

Trev,
I have just had the climapro rf fitted with a 18hxi boiler & I too cannot make much sense out of the instruction manual that came with. I think Gloworm want to employ a better technical writer. I'm no idiot in logic controls, nor is my son, but we fail to make logical sense of the instructions. The comfort heating isn't doing what it is supposed to do. All I can think is that in the 7 individual day program, the second setting isn't coming on, yet we set it for all days to be the same. The morning setting seems to work. Perhaps Gloworm can produce a better instruction manual. How about it Gloworm?
