My sound card is working properly and I can play any sound I like, but all of the record options are greyed out. I have looked at the settings and no record devices are listed for me to select.

I know that this has worked, so what do I need to do to correct this problem?

It's probably the drivers with your sound card. Go to the manufacturer's site to d/l updated drivers and see if that doesn't fix the problem.
