How to remove Kneading blade from bread pan on Regal K6748S?

Following the last time I made bread in the Regal bread maker K6748S I have been unable to remove the kneading blade from the bread pan. Any suggestions on how to remove, replace or the safety of leaving in place?

This is how I finally got our blade off (Regal model K6743)-

Fill the pan with warm water and let it soak for about half an hour. Then, grab the flat part of the paddle as close to the shaft as you can with either your thumb and index finger of your strongest hand, or, us a pair of parallel jaw pliers (that you have applied masking or electrical tape to both jaws to prevent marring the kneading blade) and tug up firmly and then press down firmly, straight up and down, in quick little increments until it comes off.

My hypothesis is that you are allowing a tiny bit of water to work its way in past the baked on gluten and dissolve the seal that's holding the blade on the shaft. It works but you have to be persistent and don't give up.

In the future, put a little bit of vegetable shortening on the shaft to help prevent sticking due to honey-water-salt-gluten cement from baking on the blade.

Good luck, Tim
