I have a problem with my very old White brand sewing Machine?

I recently recieved an old White Blue Jeans Machine Model 1577 Sewing Machine from my grandmother who cliamed it worked perfectly for her. Evrey tiem I use it the tread on the bottom side of the fabirc bunches up, I have tried all teh different stiches and such and it continues to happen. I was told it was most likely the bobbin tention, how do I fix it ?

Hello Churyl,
Start with the top first, make sure it is threaded correctly, make sure you have the presser foot up when you thread the machine so the thread goes between the tension discs, top tension between 4 and 6, bottom tension shouls be set so the thread just about pulls through evenly, if it is too tight slacken off the screw on the bobbin case slightly anti clockwise, make sure the needle is in the correct way round.
