How can I fix my Yamaha CDX 630E CD Player?

The cd rotates, not to the full speed in my view, but does not play. The display shows the track number and new tracks can be selected but nothing comes through to the audio. I think the head may not be able to recognize the track because it is not spinning at the right speed.

Do I need to get a replacement and if so from where? The part number I think is 3981416.

You may be barking up the wrong tree. The speed of a CD will vary according to what part of the disc is being played.
If a track can be selected and appears to play (counter working) then the laser is most likely ok.
Carefully check all the switches and wiring, but it is possible the player has a separate internal fault.
