if you use 'outlook' and have to keep using it, try going to :
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/
download 'Thunderbird', it has far better spam filters in it- and it even looks and works just like outlook, so you won't need to learn a new program. It will import all of your settings over to it when you load it up to save you the worry.
*if you don't need to keep your address, make a new email account at 'gmail' - I have used it for 3 years now and have not had 1 spam message. I used to use hotmail (the worst for spam) and changed to yahoo (not much better)
1. go to www.google.com
2. on the top left of the screen, click on 'gmail'
3. click on "sign up for gmail"
4. add your details. you can have an address with your name such as "fred.newton@gmail.com" .... it's quite good.
