can the plug of a dyson be replaced with a normal plug?

one of the entery connectors have broken off on the ply and i cant seem to find a way to open the plug. is it possible to just cut the wire and replace it with a normal plug?

YES YOU CAN, cut off the molded plug as close as you can to the plug FOR SAFETY THROW IN BIN ASAP replace with a B.S.I 1362 approved PLUG. Brown wire(L)to fuse carrier.Blue to neutral (N)
NO EARTH required as machine is DOUBLE INSULATED.
