my son plaed with my computer now i am missing start up files and other important conponents my disk have been miss placed in a move is there anything i can do to fix it on line

Hi you need to go to start menu then all programmes then go to system recovery. this function allows you to go back to a later back up point before you lost the files. Hope this helps

Have you tried clicking on Start > Accessories>System Tools> System Restore and restore to a date when you know it was still working correctly?

Unfortunately there is little you can do without your original or back up disks to replace/restore the lost startup files. The only way forward is purchasing another copy of your operating system disk and reinstalling it. Or if you know anyone that has it to loan you or can do it for you.
