My washer (2001 ecosmart top load model) fills and empties at the same time. It never gets beyond a inch of water and eventually it chimes like crazy until I shut it off. I was told it probably was the diverter valve but possibly the computer board. I was also told it would cost 150-300 $ depending on the issue. It does fine only on the Permanent press cycle. Does this sound like a diverter issue and if it is...is it easy enough for me to fix? I am fairly handy and I have seen repairs on these products and there isn't a lot of hardware in fisher paykel's. If I could fix it, were do you find the parts.

i feel i have the same problem with my smart drive 9 Excellence 7.5. So if anyone can help with the purchasing of parts, removal or reinstalling of this valve i also would appreciate it
