I had this problem last year and it is easy to fix, but there is one thing you need to be aware of.
You can get a replacement hinge easly via ebay or a spare part supplier. Your can remove the broken hinge easly. However as soon as you unscreew the part of the hinge attached to the washing machine, the bracket inside the washing machine that the hinge is attached to falls down into the washing machine. You then have to open up your washing machine to find it.
Once you've got the bracket back the issue is how you hold the bracket in place whilst screwing in the new hinge. This is because the bracket needs to go into a very unaccessable place.
I solved it by undoing a coat hanger so that it was a long but firm wire. I then taped the bracket to the end of the wire. I could then hold the bracket in place insdie the washing machine accessing via the top, and screw the new hinge onto it. Then when the hinge was fixed, as I had taped the bracket to the wire, I could easly pull out the wire, and put the top back on the washing machine.
Good luck, it took me a couple of hours, but that is because i had to find the bracket that had fallen down, and work out a way of holding the bracket in place.
