can sky be unlocked using a different box?

i was going to purchase a box that the seller said would unlock all sky digital channels all i had to do was replace his box with my sky box is it possible this will work?thanks for your time.

I have heard that there are sky tv decoders available which can view all channels without subscribing to sky.

Hi there i am a Sky engineer Here in spain ( yotr not suppost to have it i know ) but u can buy other so called digiboxes witch work all the same they just dont look like sky

I have no idea whether that box will work or not but here is some background.

Sky uses a Conditional Access Method method called Videoguard. The IP is owned by another News Corp company (NDS) and they do not license it to anyone else. So generally speaking you need a Sky box to decrypt Vidoeguard.

The other part of their encryption method is contained on the Viewing Card. They are ONLY available from Sky and have not been hacked.
