How can I fix the display on my Sharp Microwave?

The display has become very dim on my Sharp R320FQ Carousel Microwave. It used to be very bright and easy to see, but it started to flicker a little and now it is very difficult to see. It does not flicker any more but is very dim. Is there a way to increase the brightnes or a way to fix the problem. Microwave works great, just hard to see the display.

There is a common fault with the ribbon cable between the LCD display and the driver board. Where the ribbon cable joins the driver board the connections deteriorate and i found on a forum that heat fixes the problem. I ran a lighter rapidly (to spread the heat) along the join and this fixed the problem. I now have a brand new microwave for free :)
