I have a fairly old, but so far reliable, Hotpoint washing machine. It is a Hotpoint Aquarius electronic 800 plus 9518 (its full title!). It has started pouring water all over the kitchen when I use it. Someone helpfully suggested that I need to check the filters. How do I get the front panel off? It seems fairly solid but I am told it should just lift off to get to the filter?? Help....I have 6 loads of washing to do this weekend for school uniforms etc.

If there is no filter door on the lower front panel, the filter may be in the pump outlet hose in the form of a trap with a bung in it. This means tipping the machine onto its side for a closer look, unfortunately.
