HOW DO I MAKE IT NOT PERMANTLEY ON?

I AM REPLCING A LIGHT WITH A DOWNLIGHTER IN THE ENSUITE IT DOES NOT NEED EARTHING AS IT IS DOUBLE INSULATED I HAVE TWO BLACK WIRES TWO RED WIRES AND ANOTHER TWO RED WIRES ONE WITH TAPE ON IT OBVIOUSLY TO HIGHLIGHT IT I CURRENTLY HAVE CONNECTED THE TWO BLACK WIRES TO THE LIGHT AND THREE OF THE RED WIRES-ONE WITH THE TAPE ON IT AND ONE RED LEFT OVER PLEASE HELP THE LIGHT IS PERMANTLEY ON REGARDLESS OF SWITCHING IT ON OR OFF NORTHAMPTON UK

the two blacks to the blue neutral of the fitting, the taped red to the brown live of the fitting..... and the three reds connected together and INSULATED. ALSO ANY EARTH WIRES PRESENT MUST BE CONNECTED TOGETHER TO ENSURE CONTINUITY TO OTHER LIGHTING POINTS, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!

What you have is a 'loop-in' circuit. Unless you understand what that is get an electrician before you have a fire or worse.

Second in the UK it is illegal for you you carry out that work in a bathroom if you are not a 'Competent Person' (Building Regs.) or you have to have it checked by a 'Competent Person'. Doing so can also affect your chances of selling your house and/or your house insurance.
