Sky breakup and sound drop out?

Sky plus box etc. Poor signal strength results in machine gun like noise or loss of sound plus some pixilation. Why does it effect the sky channels more than Beeb & ITV. In particular Sky movies is the worst and becoming unwatchable when it used to be OK. Sky changed some settings and the signal improved but only for a short time. Any ideas?

I forgot. Rain makes it worse because the signal has to punch its way through the rain an it's been raining a lot recently.

You have answered your own question it is due to poor signal strength (and quality as well usually). Due to the way that digital TV works some channels will always be affected more than others.

It is dish related: Alignment, size (you need a bigger one the further north you go), LNB, Cable.
