Hotpoint WM63 door lock/sensor please help?

For a while now (with my Hotpoint Aquarius WM63) I've had to slam the door repeatedly to get it to start. It has been recently getting worse, and now I cannot get it to start at all.

Has anyone had experience of this - and how to possibly fix?
