The Switchmaster 3 way valve on my CH is not working properly. I can't find one anywhere. If I have to replace it with a Honeywell V4073A, can anyone tell me how to wire this? The Honeywell has five wires, the Switchmaster had six.

I found a wiring translation.

I wired this in after the plumber did the pipework,
and its fine. Be a bit careful to ensure the neutrals are commoned

Here is the wiring from the other forum, which I used sucessfully.
s promised:

Switchmaster VA1 --> Honeywell V4073A --> Connection

Red --> Orange --> Live to Boiler & Pump
Orange --> Orange(Link to above) --> Tank Stat HW on
White --> Grey --> Tank Stat HW off
Yellow --> White --> CH on (from room stat)
Blue --> Blue --> Neutral
G/Y --> G/Y --> Earth

I have worked out the wiring to covert between the 2 valves but in order not to move any pipes I would have to install the honeywell upside down (head at the bottom).

Is there any issue with this? I assume there is only a motor inside the head and the seal to the actual value would work in any orientation, yes?

Terry. No I have done nothing about it yet as the system seems to work without it. I guess the problem will come when I switch the CH off. then the water heating will not work.
The switch must be jambed OPEN.

Ernest, I haven't changed mine yet. I've got the wiring sorted for a Honeywell exchange now, but don't know if the pipework is a direct swap out or not. Have you done yours yet.
