Mccullock do 2 types of strimmer head if you have a genuine mccullock head.
first one is called single line you cut 2 lengths of strimmer line 1 to 2 metres and they are placed in 2 small holes on the spool then wound anti clockwise until they are sufficiently in the head.
second method is to wind 2 to 4 metres anti clockwise on the spool hooked over a central post.
I can show photos of the single line spool as I have that type on my machine, I recon this is the best method because its simple to load the spool.
