My DVD player isn't reading DVDs. When I put one in it says "no disc". The other setting work (aux, am, fm, ect.) but it wont play my movies, help!!

I just used another dvd player. I ran the video from the new dvd player to the tv and the audio from the new dvd player to the aux input on the back of the surround sound. Works for me. The center sound doesn't work that way but at least I can watch dvds.
