As you don't give ANY information about your PC or its Operating System, this is not an easy question to answer. However that kind of problem can be caused by lack of memory of processor power or many other things.
Start with memory as you can fix that., If you are running Windows XP SP2 you need at least 512MBytes of RAM. If you PC does not have that amount get it increased.
