My Estate Whirlpool refrigerator will not shut off. It was clicking on and off in short bursts. I unplugged it and vacuumed the coils. I replugged it back in and it runs continually. It is still cooling as usual.

Use an accurate thermometer to monitor temp in fridge & freezer compartments... Ideal temps should be -5° to 0°F in the freezer and 35° to 42°F in the fridge... Adjust thermostat controls accordingly to maintain ideal temps, if the compressor is running constantly then it stands to reason that it would cool too much and items in the fridge would begin to freeze.. In this case the thermostat should be replaced...
