Pfaff 1471 will not re engage?

I took the stop wheel apart to fix another issue and when I put it back together it will be engaged, but when I turn the wheel backwoods and disengage the needle I cannot renengage it, the wheel does turn forward but no needle movement. Did I loose a spring or does it need oiling? The guts feel out so I wasn't sure how it was put together, but I believe I have it right. Any help would be great, thanks. I could provide a picture also. Thanks, Susan

Thanks for the answer. I'm not sure what I have is a 3 pronged washer, it is a white plastic piece with 2 legs with curled out ends and a prong that fits into the wheel housing. Susan

Hello Susan,
Take the stop motion wheel off again and you will see the three pronged washer, take it off and put it back in a different position, put the stop motion wheel back on again finger tight and tighten the small screw and try, if dtill not joy put the washer in a different position again, you can turn the washer upside down as well.
